Check it out - http://www.gold-eagle.com/editorials_08/bloom030409.htmlIn particular, the following statement keeps reverberating in my cerebrum: 'The only way for the UK/US to remain in control of the world economy is to gain iron control over the entire world's banking system and ensure that fiat currency remains the currency of choice'.

That could be about to change sometime soon, perhaps:http://www.ft.com/cms/s/0/299e404c-011b-11de-8f6e-000077b07658.htmlThe Chinese are seriously wracking their brains devising means of productively utilising their $ 2 billion of dollar reserves. They may not keep buying American forever.

LoL - China my country???> I am still better off in the US with the recession. In fact, my practice is growing. We have now reached almost 23 employees... the only thing is that I am stressed and overworked... I don't know about you but I think something very dramatical will happen....either good or bad!!!

I do know that, Yash, which is why I qualified my statement quite heavily. I was merely reiterating remarks uttered by a number of observers, not necessarily voicing out my own view of things. China, if I'm not wrong, is also still experiencing positive growth, although that has slowed.

@Shah, Vik: if you look at FT's G20 interactive graphic here, all the economies are recessive, including Canada's. The only one forecasted to still be positive are:1. Argentina 2. Brazil3. India4. Indonesiahttp://www.ft.com/cms/s/0/e39aacb6-0e49-11de-b099-0000779fd2ac.htmlVik, about 75% or more of Canadian exports are to the USA, so if the US cannot consume or import, Canada suffers too.

All developed nations are admittedly in the midst of a recession. However, the consensus among commentators, at least those whom I have read, is that Canada is not quite in dire straits, given the plight of her main trading partner, the US. This is evidently a relative assessment, and one which has to be taken in light of all relevant internal indicators and exogenous factors. The Nordic states (barring Iceland) are not faring too badly either.
